First Look at Autocad Interface
As you already install Autocad then let’s begin to learn how to work with it. The first step you need to do is get familiar with Autocad interface.
There is no big difference between Autocad 2017 interface and previous versions of Autocad. From 2009 year version interface changed to new Ribbon style. But users who wish to use classic interface can easily change interface into a classic style.
Here are basic elements of AutoCAD interface.
First time when you will launch Autocad, it will load with workspace named Drafting & Annotation. Since 2009 year version this style is a default for Autocad. In this interface style, all tools inherit to work with 2D drawing.
Also, Autocad provides several interface layouts like
- 3D Basics
- 3D modeling
- Autocad classic
As you understand from their names The first and the second workspaces inherit to work with 3D modeling tools. The third one is for old users who don’t want to switch to the new interface. The classic interface defaulted interface style until 2009 year version while Ribbon style comes out.
If you are new in AutoCAD and some old users recommend you use only Classic interface because it is easy to use, don’t listen to them. It is easy for them because they are a long time using classic interface. In reality, new style Ribbon more useful and easy to use.
