How to use Stretch command in Autocad
Today you will learn how to use one of the 2D Editing tools in Autocad and that is Stretch.
This tool is little complicated for new beginners and that’s why to let’s learn how to use it.
Stretch tool can be found Home tab.
To learn how Stretch tool working let’s draw some enclosed object. As you already know how LINE tool working you can use it to draw some rectangle.
You can ask why I’m not using Polyline or Rectangle tool to draw a rectangle? That’s because I need to draw an unjoined object. If you will draw with Polyline all lines we are joined.

Now you have a closed but unjoined object.
Ok, Next I decide that my rectangle must be 15 mm widths and 10 mm height. To solve this problem I can use Stretch tool.
Let’s call Stretch tool and select some sides of rectangle
After select hit Enter to confirm a selection.
In the next step, you need select some point on the object. After that, you can move your cursor and you will see that your rectangle stretching.
Here I show an example on a simple object. But in a situation when you draw some combined object this tool can help us very well.
